Proverbs 26:11

"Like a dog that returns to his vomit is a fool who repeats his folly."
First and foremost, WE ARE BACK! Damn, it feels good to be writing again. For those who used to follow along, I hope you are just as excited as I am about this project. It is back and bigger than ever.
So for quick context on where we've been, I've been absolutely fucking slammed with blessings that I am beyond grateful for. I have a killer full-time job with 287 Fire; I'm their marketing coordinator, and I have an incredible boss who is molding me into a marketing wizard. I'm still doing Violet Skyy Media as well; that's actually growing big time, and I have three major accounts for the State Fair of Texas, all doing incredible food this year. I have an official hire; Andrew has been an incredible help with editing, and Lisa is helping with sales. We've got some gnarly projects we're looking to shatter in the coming months, and then we'll be hiring more folks. Very long story short, I've been very, very busy, and it's been great.
It wasn't my intention to delay Psalmverbs this long; I did want to make sure it was done right, though. A small blog on my marketing sales site does not make sense logistically, and really, this project deserves so much more. I knew it needed its own site and platform; I knew I wanted to make a community out of the project, thus the new website. Is it anywhere near finished? Absolutely not. I hate a lot of the fonts, and there are aspects I want to change, but the foundation is built, and the worship can begin. I pray and hope you all will help me build it up into what it can be: a safe place for one another to worship freely. Now, let's get into it!
I'm sticking with the dog theme for this one; you can't change my mind.
Proverbs 26:11 states, "Like a dog that returns to his vomit is a fool who repeats his folly."
Fuggin gross, right? Well, so is stupid behavior. Let's break it down. We've all had that one person we can't quit, and we go back to them time and time again. It's a part of growing up, and eventually we learn our value and our worth, and we put our foot down. There's always that final stand, "Mother fucker, you change, or I'm leaving for good" type of shit. Sometimes it's not always a person; sometimes it's a job or a way of life. You hate it there, but you stay because the feeling of uncertainty tears you down, and you haven't even left yet. If this is you currently...
Quit being a bitch and make a move.
Just kidding, but seriously, life is way too short to hate where you are at. You're never stuck, and there are always options. You might not realize this now, but God has your back. Completely, you might not be able to see his plan (and that's because we'd question it and fuck it up), but I promise, you're going to be good. If you end up in an alley doing meth, this was totally your idea, not mine, but if you end up a billionaire, I expect a little kickback.
It's easy to fall into habits or states of mind because it's comfortable for the moment, but in doing this, we really are reminiscent of a dog eating its own puke. I know some smart ass is reading this going, "Didn't you and Lisa break up like 5 times?" and yeah, we did, mofo, but we grew and matured, and now we're stuck together like that movie with Dave Franco. Let me try to find a picture...

Like this. That's us. If you've seen the movie, you know it gets so much worse and what the full picture of this looks like.
Sick.
Moving on. We tend to think about staying in bad habits because of the comfort, but we don't talk about falling out of good habits nearly enough. If you start a new diet or start working out and a week later you're back to being a fat piece of shit, you're the dog eating your own vomit. I'm struggling big time with this one right now, mostly because of schedule conflicts. However, I think I've found a good schedule that's going to work great, and if not, we'll keep adjusting till it becomes habitual. Doing the things we're supposed to isn't always the most fun, and it definitely doesn't taste the best, but it is rewarding. Nobody gets out of this alive, so I get that's probably more of a reason to eat, drink, and fuck whatever you want, but there really is something about discipline that creates a euphoric high that only discipline can create.
That's one cool Golden. If you find yourself in a position you no longer want to be in or you're "stuck", just know help is out there, and you always have an out. Nobody wants to be the dog eating its own vomit, pretending it's a 5-course meal. It feels good to be back, Mt devotionals will be on Wednesday evenings, and Church will be at 11:00 AM. We'll be going to The Hills NRH if you want to join us; the more, the merrier! Our first Support Local Bible study will be at Enchiladas Ole on October 22nd, 6pm to 8pm. Please join us then as well! Everyone pays for their own meal, obviously. We're really excited to get this community up and going! I hope you all have a badass week, goodnight!
